“The chemical formula for the highly toxic cyanide ion is CN-. These are also Chuck Norris’ initials. This is not a coincidence.” — Chuck Norris Facts (via chucknorrisfacts)

An excerpt from the poem I spat at the poetry slam last night:

This was Cornell’s first poetry slam.  Here’s a little sample of the poem I spat (it’s the 6th stanza)  Chemistry majors, please don’t be offended.  I just really despise orgo.  This isn’t what the whole poem is about, but I got a ton of laughs out of this stanza:

—————————————————————————————————————

From “The Wannabe” by T. Sands:

—————————————————————————————————————

No, I’m sitting in the sea

of bodies, transfixed

by the epileptic piece of chalk

that spits out dusty white nonsense:

This goes here.

That goes there.

Flying electrons: voodoo magic.

This is a mechanism. Look:

the molecule is happy now.

Oh, but this one:

this one is sad.

This is chemistry.

This is stupid.

Realization:

My tumblr is the most random thing ever.  But that’s alrighty-dighty because I’m kind of random myself.  In a strange and often spastic way…
